Welcome to Baby Grows Day Nursery, opened in September 2005 and now a well established privately owned full day care nursery in Peacemarsh, Gillingham. Gillingham is a fast growing town and we wanted to provide the best modern facilities to complement this as well as broadening the range of childcare available locally. It has been designed and set up by two fully qualified, teachers—Louise Leah and Sarah Hake—to provide excellent quality care, activities and learning for children, enabling parents to have the freedom to lead their busy lives. Baby Grows is ideally located: close to major housing estates; Peacemarsh Surgery; a dental practice and other community facilities. It is also convenient for the A303, Gillingham’s mainline railway station and the town centre.

We want Baby Grows to be a special place to which children of all ages love to come; feeling safe, secure, valued and cared for by each other and by our committed and motivated staff. Although a large setting, registered for 100 children, the layout has been carefully arranged to make smaller, homely areas with distinct features and facilities. Outside we have an enclosed garden in which children can play, plant and potter. We are also lucky to be close to paved country walks and local parks as well as on hand for visits to local shops, the library, Post Office and so on, enabling us to broaden the children’s experience of the local community.

Louise and Sarah had seventeen years of experience teaching children and leading departments in local schools between them, but left teaching in order to establish the new nursery.

Since opening the nursery both Sarah and Louise have gone on to gain their post graduate level Early Years Professional Status through Bath Spa University. We were proud to be amongst the first in Dorset to achieve this qualification.

As mothers of young children ourselves, we want to provide parents in Gillingham (and the surrounding area) with the flexibility a full day care setting offers; catering for the needs of very young babies as well as toddlers and pre-school children and meeting the rigorous standards we desire for our own children. Baby Grows is our first venture into the Full Day Care Nursery sector of education but we are passionate about providing exceptional care and education for your child.
